Simone "Bud" Anthony

Anthony Simone was born in Central Park/Bethpage, the son of John and Filomena Rose Simone. He attended Farmingdale High School and was the class Valedictorian in 1945. He then served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict earning the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He attended Adelphi College and received a B. S. upon graduation in 1959, and he worked as a licensed land surveyor and civil engineer. He went on earning his Master's Degree from the State University of New York at Stonybrook in 1988. He enjoyed three careers: land surveying and park planning, construction, and teaching math and construction technology at Suffolk Community College.
Anthony Simone was an intellect, artist, engineer, athlete and generous friend, son, father and grandfather. He believed that success was the result of inspiration (10%) and perspiration (90%). He faithfully completed every job, project, race, and book that he began, and he often proclaimed that anything worth doing was worth doing well. Anthony lived a full life included a wealth of friends, family and interest. From his days in the army, while stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, to founding the Bohemia Track Club on Long Island. Anthony befriended a legion of people of all ages. When contemplating God and the afterlife he stated, "If God loves me only half as much as my mother does - I will do OK.
Anthony passed away, at the age of 87, on August 19, 2015, at So. Burlington, VT.
