Birnbach, William G

Bill was a long time resident of Bethpage who passed away on April 15. 2012 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by his parents William J. Birnbach and Celestine (nee Flickinger). Bill was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he graduated from Canisius H. S. and Parks College, St. Louis University. His career in aviation started with 2 years active duty in the United States Air Force, followed by over 30 years in the Air Force Reserve. He retired as a Lt. Col. His civilian career included roles at various aviation related companies, most prominently at Lufthausa and Aer Lingus. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lorraine (Kleiman), three children, William (Lori), Ingrid (Brendan Keag) and George (Jeannette) and his 8 grandchildren -- William, Kyra, Lynn, Alexander, Nicholas, Jennifer, Christopher, Sophia and Catherine. Bill was a member of St. Martin of Tours R. C. Church, Knights of Columbus and the Central Park Historical Society and always had interesting observations and questions at our regular CPHS meetings.
