Elected as president to the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce in 1956, and he was installed as president on April 25, 1956 at the Beau Sejour. Mr. Reed, an attorney, who shares a business ofice with Buddy Mazzara on Broadway. He puts much time in Bethpage community activities in addition to his work with the Chamber of Commerce. He is active in North Bethpage Civic Association, Theodore Roosevelt Republican Club, was chairman of the Mental Health Fund Drive in 1954, raised pledges for Our Lady of Mercy Church.

He was born in the Bronx where he attended school and he went on to College of Idaho and CCNY. He received his law training at St. John's University. He served in the Army for three years as an aviation cadet. He married Helen Hoeflick and after living in Howard Beach and Rosedale they moved to Bethpage at 65 Essex Road in the Stewart development. They have three daughters, Diane, Carol and Christine.
