This one room school house was located on Hempstead Turnpike west of Hicksville Road.

Below information from Lynn DeLalio Bagli

I attended the Island Trees one room school house on Hempstead Turnpike. Six grades, one teacher, pot bellied stove, outside pump house, true Americana. When Levitt started building homes, we all went to the Bethpage Schools and the transition from our cozy little classroom with 19 good friends was difficult. Island Trees then built a large school and we left Bethpage schools.
