DeLaurentis, Theresa Angelina

Theresa Angelina DeLaurentis, 85, of Columbia, CT and formally of Bethpage, widow of the late Joseph DeLaurentis, passed away Friday evening (June 5, 2009) at home surrounded by her loving family. Born February 5, 1924 in Central Park, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margherita (Scarpino) Agiesta. During World War II, she worked for Grumman Aircraft as "Rosie the Riveter" and in September of 1946 she and Joseph were married at St. Martin of Tours Church. Together, they settled in Bethpage, raising their family and sharing 38 years of marriage before he predeceased her in June of 1985. Over the years, she was active with the Central Park Historical Society, as well as, the Republican Club before moving to Columbia in 2002 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Lillian. Son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Katie live in Knoxville, TN. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by six siblings, Lucy Ippolito, Mary Minicozzi, Concetta DeLucia and Louis, Dominick and James Agiesta.
