Formally of Concord Avenue, Bethpage, son of Helen (nee Thompson) and Walter Munday Jr., brother to Kathy Richards. Walter grew up in Bethpage - later called Lattington, Cape Cod, and Shelter Island "home". Fond memories of growing up in Bethpage with friends Jack Caffrey, Bobby Albertson, John Schmeiser, Dickie Pursel and Donald Robesch. Enjoyed the rural surroundings of the 40's/50's where they made rafts on the Old Motor Parkway gullies. Proud to say he once caddied for Perry Como locally. He attended Powell Avenue School, graduated from Farmingdale High School, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After graduation from Farmingdale High School Walter attended Kings Park Merchant Marine Academy then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was part of the Seabees Battalion. Walter was predeceased by wives Cynthia and Carol Ann Kroez. Walter and Carol Ann settled in Lattington where he built a home and raised three children - Scott, Susan and Steven. A proud grandfather to Lauren, Daniel, Charlotte and two great-grandchildren Mariella and Amelia. Member of the choir and Trinity Lutheran Church, Glen Cove and served on the church council as well as a member of the Garden City Choral Society as they toured Italy. Walters professional career as a surveyor employed by Davis Construction Company, Hicksville, then Tully Construction, Flushing.
Walter was interred with U.S. Navy Honors in Ballston Spa Village Cemetry, Ballston Spa. N.Y.
