Huber, Bill and Joan

Joan was born in Floral Park, her family moved to a home built by her father's father in 1934. She attended Malvern School.

Bill was born in Brooklyn, lived in Glendale, and attended Woodrow Wilson Vocational School in St. Albans, and Pratt Institute.

Joan and Bill met in 1948. Bill served in the Korean War 1951 - 1953 he returned home safely, and resumed career as electrical in IBEW Local 3. Joan worked at Remington Rand in NYC. At one time both Joan and Bill worked for Gen. Douglas MacArthur! They were married February 14, 1953, St. Valentine's Day - making this their 50th wedding anniversary.

They moved to Bethpage in 1955, after living in Brooklyn and having two sons. They stayed in Bethpage until both retired, and moved to Honolulu in 1989.

Joan's father raced on the Vanderbilt Parkway during the 1920's which was just down the block from Herman Ave.
