Nassau County Legislator Edward Mangano will be sworn in as Nassau County Executive on January 1, 2010 at Bethpage High School. Ed exhibits pride in the Bethpage Community he grew up in, and where he chose to settle with his wife Linda and raise their two sons, Salvatore and Alex. Ed is proud of the education he received while attending Bethpage Schools, and the value of honest, hard work taught to him by his father at an early age. Hard work where no task was beneath him, only giving him the opportunity to climb the ladder and move ahead.

Ed graduated from Bethpage High School in 1980, Hofstra University 1984, and Hofstra Law School in 1987, he then went into private law practice. Ed became involved in the concerns of his community which directed him towards his political career and was elected to the Nassau County Legislature in 1995. Over the years, as Nassau County Legislator, he has accomplished much for our community, namely the redevelopment of the Grumman property.

The Bethpage Community is proud of the accomplishments of Ed which was very evident by the many signs that sprung up around town and the bumper stickers on cars, of the many active supporters of his "grassroots" campaign.
