Commissioner Bill Zura of the Bethpage Fire District has announced his re-election for Fire Commissioner. Bill has been a Volunteer Firefighter for 30 years and served as Captain, 1st & 2nd Lieut., Company Treasurer as well as other important positions. Bill also created the Fire Police so senior members could still be active with the fire department and also ex-chairman of recruitment & public relations for the department.

Bill is a lifelong resident of Bethpage, happily married to Donna for 24 years and have 3 children. Bill's number one priority has been insuring that our volunteer firefighters and rescue personnel have the necessary equipment and training to provide us with the best protection.

Bill is employed by the Town of Oyster Bay Highway Division for 27 years. He is in charge of communications at which his office takes all complaints for highway and public safety. He is also trained in Incident Command for all types of disasters (blizzards, tornados, hurricanes, etc.) and is on the Emergency Management Committee for the TOB.
