Elaine Thompson was commissioned by the United States Golf Association to paint the "2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage" poster. Elaine spent two months painting the magnificent oil painting of the Black Course 18th green with the clubhouse in the background. In the foreground is a painting of the 2009 U.S. Open logo including an 11 year old caddie in vintage attire.

Eileen is well known for her golf art. She painted the 2004 Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and 2006 Winged Foot Golf Club U.S. Open posters. Her first commemorative golf painting was the 2002 historical "The Black Course - Bethpage, Over the Years."
