The Reverand Michael J. Hartigan, pastor of St. Martin of Tours R. C. Church, succumbed to a heart-attach on Tuesday, December 13 at Mercy Hospital.

Farther Hartigan was four days short of reaching his 76th birthday and would have been ordained as a priest 50 years this coming June 12th. He was pastor at St. Martin's for the past 15 years, coming to Bethpage in June 1940. As the Parish grew bigger in number, Father Hartigan's dream of someday building a Parochial School came true this past September, when the doors were opend to 360 youngsters in the first to third grades.

Miss Nora and Miss Maryann Hartigan, who reside in Ireland, were notified of their brother's death. Farther Hartigan was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Queens.
