Captain Joseph Dunn and Fireman Robert Hassett of Bethpage Fire Department, Company Four. Lost their life while fighting a fire at Three Brothers Pools on Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage. On May 25, 2008 the Bethpage Fire Department marked the 30th Anniversary, of the Line of Duty Deaths, by placing a plaque in their memory at Three Brother's Pools, the scene of the fire.

On Memorial Day, 1979, the department dedicated a memorial stone on the grounds of Station 4 in their memory.
