Built to provide prestigious office space, shops, and fine restaurants (including 'Windows on the World' at the top of the towers). An easy commute from Bethpage via Long Island Rail Road or by car. The World Trade Center was the target of an attack on September 11, 2001, as well as The Pentagon in Washington D.C. In the World Trade Center over 3,000 people lost their lives. Bethpage has suffered the loss of:

A SURVIVOR'S TALE

Why there was so much hate is a mystery.
Three thousand people went to work that day
Happy to work, travel or play.
The day was crystal clear and oh so bright
The Towers rose tall, almost proud of their height.
But in an instant everything exploded and shattered.
Fire, steel and lives lost, everything that mattered.
Heroics from everyday women and men
Trying to make sense out of all the mayhem.
Crippling sounds, smells and fright
Came across each of us, who were praying the building
