George was an active member of the Central Park Historical Society where he jumped right in to help support their many projects - the building of floats and projects of historic significance; used his talents to help establish the CPHS archives; and for the running of the organizations and events. George willingness to work and enhance his church, St. Martin of Tours, with the support and help of friend Bob Albertson as they were known as the Nazarene Carpenters of SMT. They were very proud of their work as they initialed most of their objects. To name some I can remember - The top of the Holy Water Fountain in the Gathering Room; the large display case, for church distribution of information in the Gathering Room; the Bible Stand; a cabinet to hold the books Frank Decicco up-date of people killed in military action; the shelf which hold the book of those deceased from St. Martin of Tours - now George and Bob's name is in the book; where shelves were need to hold and display objects; crafted the crib for the infant Jesus - given to SMT by Fr. Pat - to display the infant on the 25th of each month; |
